New to this domain,

In my younger days I ran a J&J aluminum sandrail with a 20B sandrail in 100 yd drags(3.3 best time). Have 2 20b's and 2 13b cosmos(extra parts but the engines are all complete). Electromotive TEC-1 setup for the 20b and a 60-1 turbo are also for sale.

L.A. area

Email @ leobrandt@gmail.com for any info.

Check out either

http://www.dtafast.co.uk/index.htm

or the Electromotive TEC-3

I got the rotary bug and purchased 5 Cosmos (3 20b's and 2 13b's) for my sandrail. You also can get some ideas from the aviation rotary group if you have a tight budget.

Just going a little off topic, when you say aluminium sand-rail is that an aluminium chassis? If so where can I get info on it?

I'll have an ftp site up and running on Monday, April 2 with a bunch of pics of the engines and my old sandrail.

It was an all aluminum chassis with a mendeola transaxle. The only problem was I was constantly breaking welds.

That's exactly why I asked, it's hard to get a spaceframe chassis to work well in aluminium, I was wondering what way sandrails get around the problem - turns out they dont. From what I have seen, you need to eliminate any twisting at all, and by that stage the weight saving from the aluminium over steel has been eliminated with all the extra bracing. Good for monocoques though!
