I'm going to swap over to DLIDFIS.My car is currently under about 8 inches of snow.My question is on the connector(I have two spares I'm using for this ignition)which is the + and which is the - ?I have them lying flat on the table so the connectors are like this.... - | is - the positive and | the negative or is it the other way around?
Thanks Luis |
Not exactly.
The ground is the Metal Plate on the distributer side of the ignitor. the Batt+ terminal is the --. the output to the coil - is the |. |
I new this one, but got beat by the Smogfighter Guru.
Glad to see someone else active to add to our Clan of Knowledge. Right Mike and Luis. Keep them comming. Steve |

Hi everyone!
With a little MS paint and a digital camera, I have created a masterpiece (or Monster?!?!?!?) |
Now to make the hookup easy...
The main Ground: use a pair of jump start cables. Use one side ( of the pair) from the negative BATT terminal to the ignitor. (Hold the ignitor in the clamp with the wire side of the clamp touching the metal in the middle of the ignitor.) the other side is not used. The main Positive: use a jumper wire ( a good set isn't cheap, but they are worth the money) from BATT positive to term B. The Switch: another jumper wire just touch it to the BATT positive post. (on & off rapidly) The Light: use a "Test Light". jam the pointy end inbetween the positive clamp and post to hold it. then clamp onto term C. Setting up this way gives you the ability to hold the ignitor in hand or set down and still make all the connections necessary toperform the test. |
The jump start cable Idea
(Yes I know it's not an ignitor) |
