Im loving the Windows GUI and the open code! check the software out MSGUI.EXE

Im wanting to build one to play with this Probe I just picked up, was it a pain to build Jeff?

I generally don't click on an EXE without a good reason. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

The MS wasn't that hard to solder. I hadn't done any serious soldering in 10 years, but I started on the stimulator and by the time I was ready to start soldering the MS PCB, my skills were back to where they were 10 years ago. Having since finished the PCB and even a few hardware mods (ignition outputs, fan control etc), I'm better at soldering now than I've ever been before.

If you've never soldered before, there are some steps you can take, but I'm not sure what they are. Others recommend starting with a small DIY circuit board soldering project, or something like that. I use a 15 watt iron and thin guage 0.32 solder (both from Radio Shack).

There is a lot more to type, but this should be enough to get you kinda sorta started.

Haha Im gonna edit that, its a link https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png. I work at Radio Shack and solder stuff all the time so I shouldnt have too much problem putting it together. Have you played with a stimulator on your board yet to see if it works? Also do you have any pics of it during assembly? Thanks for the info Jeff, anyone else have any input about it?

EDIT heres the non threatening link http://bellsouthpwp2.net/s/_/s_moseley/meg...msgui/MSGUI.EXE

My MS and stim both work great. I just followed the assembly instructions and didn't run into any problems. I don't imagine you'll have any problems either. I'm sorta surprised at all the assembly questions that keep popping up on the MSEFI forum when all most people need to do is follow the directions better. Of course many people who build MegaSquirts may not speak or understand English as well as you or I.

I don't have any pics of mine during assembly. I posted some pics of the completed unit here. (you may need to be a registered user for the pics to show up) http://www.msefi.com/viewtopic.php?t=6786 and here are some others' boards during assembly. http://www.msefi.com/viewtopic.php?t=6514

Yah I tried to register, I never got a link in my email! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Is your email working ok? There is an email function of that forum, but I never use it. Some people use it exclusively and it causes problems sometimes. Heh, I don't even like email; I prefer forums and their PM option.

I'm not a mod there so I can't help you out. My advice is to try again or email Lance and let him know.

Yah Im not talking about on the forum, when I registered it said that I would be sent an email confirmation and when I checked my mail, no confirmation. I thought it maybe got caught by the spam guard but no good. I for one say we should start a MS sticky in the ECU discussion it really is being widely accepted by people using it for motorcycles, cars, boats, ANYTHING.

I plan on going with MS as soon as I can afford the parts I need to re-finish the dang thing. I hoped to finish last week, but I will have to wait until the end of the semester. (money)

The folks at msefi.com are a great help, and assembly is straightforward, just be careful and check each step like it says.

I completed it, but had to take it out and go back to carb, I think the pics are still on my website..
