First off, welcome to the board. If your looking for 1st gen info and a board, try www.mazspeed.com Those guys know their stuff!

next, check your wiring. The Fuel pump wire has a tendancy to die and does exactly what your talking about. Try hooking up one to a different battery if you have time... also, to make sure, does it struggle with your blinkers on? probably wiring

If I'm wrong and you've wasted a day crawling around under your car, try summit racing. www.summitracing.com

the stock fuel pump pushes about 20gph at 3psi if I remember correctly...

If you're getting a different carb/intake some time in the near future, you may want to upgrade to about 60-70 gph @ 6-8 PSI and a regulator. But if you push too much pressure through the stock carb, you'll have it pissing out the top, so make sure you get the regulator!

Here you go man. I just did a full writeup on this over at RX7club.com. The link includes part numbers, pricing, and installation instructions/suggestions. Hope this helps.

I'm running a Carter fuel pump with a Holley regulator. You can get both pieces from Summit for under $100.

The Carter is friggin' huge, but tough. I didn't take the time to re-route everything when I installed it and it hangs down too far. On the highway I hit a 3" diameter log with the end of the pump. It bent the bracket 90 degrees and tore a little hole in the floorboard. The pump still runs fine and everything hammered out okay. I have another generic pump that I'm going to replace it with when I swap everything into my GSL-SE.

I recommend the Holley FPR because it's dirt cheap - under $25. Also, if you buy a different carb setup you can just buy a rebuild kit and swap out the springs to run the higher fuel pressure range (4 1/2 - 9psi).
