Water Temp Guage Install

hey guys, i got a plain water temp guage from auto store today and i went to install it, however the stock bung on my 81 rad is no where big enough to install the guage to. its the little water temp sensor on the top of the rad. Does anyone know where i can install this guage to ? my stock guage doesn't work and i need a water temp guage now that its getting hott out and im installing a e-fan. thanks guys !

heres the unit's sender end, i guesss ill have to tap a place in the rad for it huh ?

got it ...





"Go to autozone and get the metric adapter kit. It was 5 bucks. It's sold near the gauges. Thread adapter into water pump housing and thread 1/8 NPT sensor into adapter. works great. Also don't forget teflon tape threads."

What size is that adapter?I know on side is 1/8 NPT but what size is the water pump?
