well its come down to putting a new motor in my 1st gen and i've decided to put a t2 motor into her. i know i need the motor with harness, t2 transmission, and n332 or n333 ecu. i already have the front cover from a 12a to use for the motor mounts. now my questions is, what else do i need to complete the conversion? should i change out the stock gs rear end for a gsl-se rear or will it hold the power. can i also use the msd coils and msd 6al that i have or do i have to use the stock t2 coil packs. ohh and im using a holley red fuel pump would i need to change that out or will it be enough for the turbo motor. any help will be appreciated. ???

I'm currently in the process of the same thing, as soon as the body comes back from the paint shop. The easiest way to do it is find a whole T2 car. That way you will have everything that you need. That's what I did. You are definately gonna have to change the fuel pump. You can get one for an SE and it will work fine. You will also need the fuze box out of the T2. My partner already has a T2 setup in his, so alot of the stuff is things that he knows. He has an MSD setup on his and I think he is still using 2nd gen coils. If I'm not mistaken, a 2nd gen coil puts out about as much as a Blaster 2. Not sure though. As far as the rear-end, I have a GSL and want 300hp to the wheels and he tells me that it's not a problem. I'll know some more this week as we get mine back and start putting things together. Oh joy!

hey thnx for the info i didnt know about the fuse box, but are you sure about the fuel pump im sure the holley aftermarket is better than an SE stock fuel pump.

That's what I'm being told. I have been running a Holley blue, which I think pumps more than the red. I know my partner also switched his also and is running an SE pump for now. Will definately go with a more powerful one though later down the road. First objective is to get everything running.

yeah, and dont forget about the GSLSE oil pan. As far as the drivetrain it should hold for a while, as long as your not taking off hard.

well as far as the oil pan goes i got that already cuz i got a 13b in the car already. i must say that YUCA knows me damn well as far the drivetrain abuse goes especially considering that this car wont be a daily driver and mainly used for the track and an occaisional spin around town to show it off im really concerned about the drivetrain because im planing to make over 350 whp so i really need to have the most dependable drivetrain i can manage to get my hands on.

in that case you should get the turbo 2 drivetrain, it was made to take the abuse or turbo 2 tranny with a custom built ford 9 inch rear.

the gslse can only take so much abuse.
