Everything I find about modifying the tranny talks about the 13b tranny instead of the 12a, which I currently have.

I really need to know if my thinking is correct:

The shift rod from my 12a needs to go in the TII tranny with the shift tube rod housing from the 12a attached to the TII tranny as well. This creates a problem with the 12a shift rod being too long...if I cut the rod to center the roll pin, will my shifter remain in the stock location? Of course the shift tube will have to be shortened as well...

The threads on the Evil forum note the switching of extension housings, which is not possible with the 12a tranny due to different bolt patterns.

Thanks in advance for helping me!

the only difference between the gsl-se tranny and a 12a is the gearing of 5th gear and a couple of little minor things (1/2 moons, the counter shaft nut or snap ring), same case, same shifter

Well the extension housing is definitely not the same!

Setzep's thread on the other forum talks about him swapping extension housings...

That's what I've done so far...I'm just wondering if the amount that the shift rod needs to be cut is the same regardless of the type of tranny.

The FB shift rod needs to be shortened as well as the TII rod, of course.

Which one would be best to use (seeing as how they look the same to me), and how much do they need to be cut?

Setzep had recorded 3cm with the modifications he did, but he used the TII rod.

You have no idea how much I appreciate your time helping me!

You just swap the shifter housing, NOT the whole tail housing.

I used the T2 rod because it has those detents in it for a neutral safety switch incase some day I want to put a remote start in it. If I were you I'd use the T2 rod as well but you can use the FB one if you want.

You'll also have to cut the tube the shift rod goes through. It needs to be shortened a tad (can't remember exact length)

The 12a and 13b gsle-se trans have the same external dimensions.

I hope that helps a little.
