Tranny Crossmembers.......
#1
I have a crossmember out of a 82 and it doesn't line up at all.I can't even get both holes to line up to bolt it to the chassis.Any Ideas why?I thought all Fbs had the same crossmember other than the auto ones.Even then I heard the manual one bolts in where the auto used to.This will take a god damn year at this rate to get running and this should be a simple swap for me.
Thanks

Does the manual and auto bolt tto the chassis' different?I just talked to the guy I got the car from and he said it had a auto tranny in it when he got.I hope the two bolt to the chassis the same. Why couldn't he have told me that before.

The wrecker said it had a auto. The new crossmember is from a 5 speed.****.I guess I'll have to mod the tranny crossmember seeing as it doesn't bolt directly up.Time to get out the cutting torch.

Hang on, am I gonna have the same problem..
My car was originally an auto, will I have to get a 5spd x-member and adapt it? Or will I be able to use the auto x-member I already have?
