i have a 13b street port, weber 48 ida with open headers in a buggy, it has been running good but recently got a top end miss. no intake leaks and i took the carb apart and cleaned it also. i have a electronic distributor, is it possible that a leading or trailing ignitor could cause this problem?? it idles great and has great power bottom end but gets a bad miss when i rev it out.

um in my experience its either plug wires or a fuel pressure/plugged filter issue. i have one right now, i put plug wires on it and it got worse, so it needs a fuel filter...

i have new racing beat wires, new fuel pump, and new filter. i think it is not a fuel problem now, but was wondering how the motor would run with a bad ignitor. any one experienced this?

bad ignitor = no spark at all.

will it run with only the leading, or only the trailing? if so how will it run?

It should run fairly well with only the leading, and hardly at all with only the trailing.

I had issues with a brand new fuel filter and a Holley red label fuel pump, filter cut my PSI down and it had a baaaaaaaaad top end miss. Replaced the fuel filter with a different brand and it went away, pulls strong up to 8g no prob.

thanks for the help guys, i will check the filter and ignitors for spark, i also am going to buy some extra ignitors for spares and am looking at changing over to the dual coil leading do it yourself i have seen on the forum, looks better than buying a msd box and spending more $$
