So I'm going forced induction on my GSL-SE, and I'm pretty sure I want to supercharge instead of turbo, but I'd like to get some feedback from people who have it done. I know there's a kit out there that allows you to keep the EFI too. Thoughts?

from my limited knowlege of blowers, i'd say that a turbo would be a much better application than a supercharger.....



dunno why... can't explain... it's just the way it is?? something to do with supercharger eficiency being 0 - Somenumber??RPM where as a turbo is from That number+up and up... and being a rotary engine it shouldn't sit anywhere below 5grand if you're driving right https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Well my personal theory goes that the supercharger will give you the option to drive at lower rpm's and still have some guts (which is the reason we all run the Rotary at high rpm's in the first place...cuz there's no bottom end torque..that and well just because you can). Also, there's a smoother power curve instead of the spike when the turbo spools...so say your going around a turn at near the traction limit and get into the boost...this is bad. Just thoughts....I wanna hear what people with a blower have to say about it. I've heard that a drwback is that you get almost too much bottom end and spin a lot. Does it have to be Rx7's. Here's Peter Demetre Rx3 one of the Pac Performance Boy's running a supercharger. His happy with it and he say's it's a great street car too.

NICE!! You don't happen to have any contact info for that guy or know where he had the work done do you? His particular application looks to be a bit more muscle than I would want, but the general 13B/supercharged with engine management is what I want info about. Thanks!!!

Stateside there is Atkins rotary/Camden superchargers. They sell kits for the 13B and 12A. I don't think they have an efi setup though, all of their kits use Holley carbs.

Squeezed is nice but Blown is better, IMO.



If I were to do a forced induction project on a rotary it would be a supercharger also. Turbos are nice cause they do not have the parasitic drain that SC's have. However, the low end torque of a SC is nice even if you sacrifice 20-30 HP to get it. I have seen dyno and qrtr mile stats and they are my kind of nice. Plus I have driven several "blown" piston vehicles and I dig the low end power.



Check out Paul Yaw's SC RX-8 Renesis 13bsome time if you get a chance. This guy is building a Renesis 13b SC from hell. Paul might even field some questions for you.



Keep us posted here if you decide to SC a seven.

See, I would think that supercharging a non-20B rotary would pose problems because it would rob HP down low, where the rotary doesn't have any anyway. Obviously, this is wrong...please explain.
