Can anybody give me some knoledge on street porting my 12a. It has 86 000 km on it and I have the racing beat full exhaust(not street port header but collector)

1. What are the pros/cons of street porting a 12a?

-horsepower gain

-durability

-gas milage

Or more

2. What other upgrades should I make if any while doing this?

3. Where should I get my template from, I plan on doing it myself?

Feel free to tell me more about the after math or the process I am up for, Thank you?

By the way I just asked this at rx7club.com and they said that there was a good area on street porting on this sight so i decided to take a look so if anyone gave me a link to that or tell me where to go that would be awsome, I just registered so i dont know to much about where to look. Thanks!

best bet is to look in the engine building section.

1. heres the good, hp goes up, durability is about the same, gas mileage will improve a tad IF you're not driving it like you stole it , emissions get worse

2. needs a good exhaust, maybe think about a good carburator/efi

3. racing beat or mazdatrix both have time tested templates

Does this apply to ALL streeports, or just really mild ones?

I've been toying around with porting my 12As next engine, but was afraid that my gas mileage will suck too much to go to school next year. If it IMPROVES, or stays the same when I'm not being an idiot, then sign me up!!
