Well i finally fixed the oil leak and i had it started no problems.........but now, when it starts it dies instantly. Gets one good rev to about 4k then shuts down. The best i can explain it, is when you rev your car then shut the ignition off, or when there is a theft lock that allows you to start it then after about 2-3 seconds it dies. I dont think im getting a constant flow of spark somewhere, the problem is, i dont know where to look. Can any of you point me in the right direction? Thanks again.

Daniel

Sounds like you ran out of fuel.

Really....i think you did. The only time my car ever did that is when it ran out of fuel or was really low. Start it itll rev a bit than die all the sudden. You're like WTF until you look at the fuel guage. Try putting like 5 bucks worth of fuel in, maybe your guage is inaccurate.

Yea i was thinking it was out of gas............but when it dies there is no sputter or sounding like its trying to stay on. So i didint think it was out but i put about 2 gallons in anyway and it still doesnt start. But now it doesnt even sound like it wants to start at all, I have spark, fuel, and air but nothing........by the way its a 84 gslse

Okay it's fuel injected.

Hmmm...

When was the fuel filter replaced? Maybe it's clogged?

After that I have no clue. It can't be flooded...it was starting and dying.

What are typical non-starting issues with EFI?

Damn, if you checked for spark and its there...it cant be ignition....could it? All I can think of is fuel is just not going in! Do you smell gas when you pump the gas? You mustve tried to hold down the throttle to keep it on right?

Damn I hate when cars dont want to start, lol.
