I finally got the car started for a couple of secs. Got above 3k and then died. The only way i can start it is to pour some gas in the carb and run inside to crank it, but when it fires up i can raise the rpms with the pedal. Then she dies. I took the fuel line off of the carb and it is bone dry....unplug the fuel pump relay and jump the wires and i get some gas coming out so i put it back on. Still need gas in the carb to fire up.

A freind helped me by pouring some gas to get it started and added some more to keep it running and i got it to 5k and when he stopped it did also.

I also found my oil to be brown and runny, my coolant light came on. I poured some water in the radiator and it runs out btween the bell housing and the engine. It only started this after about 20 run and dies.

Any advice?

Thanks...scott

Yeah dude, the coolant running out is a BAD sign on any rotary, but 12a especially....they're known for "going" exactly as you described. The good news is, that it's possible all the internals are ok (if it hasn't been overheated because of this problem) and that you can rebuild with just a gasket kit if that the way you want to go.

I'd just pull her out an get her rebuilt, but that's just my 2 cents.

On the back of the engine at 12,3,6,and 9 o'clock there are holes which are pluged with inverted metal caps.

Are these plugs for the cooling system?
