OK after the 2 day thundershower delay I laid out a whole new ground system($40Later) and still nothing except the clicking off my new starter.I highly doubt that starter is shot after 4000 kms tho.Going back under the car now. Be alot easier to smash the car into a paper wieght right now tho.

Common problem with RX7's. The ignition switch gets crappy and you don't get enough power to the starter. I had my mechanic put in a relay to switch +12 directly from the battery.

I've gone thru 4 starters on mine...and the one I have now isn't working too well either...i'm not sure if its the car...or if stuff is just really cheap now days

had one that wouldn't disenguage when it started...

one that did nothing...

another that grinds...or would do nothing

and the one I have now has a tendancy to grind like a **** when i start her cold...pumping the gas 3 or 4 times with the choke out seems to help...but sometimes it still does it...things on there tight...and I replaced the battery cables not too long ago...so it shouldn't be wiring related

first 3 came from o-reilys...the one i've got now came from autozone

they're all just junk i tell ya...puuuuuuuure junk

and I don't think its my ignition switch...cuz when i origionally had problems with my starter doing...nothing...I replaced it...wasn't cheap either...made no difference in my opinion...but I guess it would depend on what problems your having exactly

If all else fails...get the choke out and everything...put her into first...and let out the clutch while its rolling...got me home quite a few times

I had a lifetime on mine...but after getting 3 they wouldn't let me have anymore...the final one was shot inside...but they said since it spun up on the tester they couldn't give me another...really...pissed me off

If they give you any crap tell em you'll shove that starter where the sun don't shine

OK,UPdate time.Starter is on and the stupid thing still just clicks.Just tested the power wires and theres no 12V at it with the key in the "ON" position. This leads me to believe that the hot wire is at fault because I already multimetered the ground and its awesome shape. Can I run a hot off the battery directly to the starter or does it come off the ignition as well?

Thanks

I'd look into doing the relay thing like Amanda suggested . . .

Good luck

Found my problem.regrounded the car and then tested the ignition wire with the clip on it and I got 12.22VDC so then I tested the Positive wire and got 0VDC.Ran a wire directly off the battery and it cranks right away without the ignition on.Is there a way to wire it so I can run my 4 guage I have on the positive now off my ignition?Hey J9FD3S I could use some help here. I am headed downtown to get some contact cleaner and see if I can't get the stock Green/Yellow stripe wire to work right.I am thinking its a bad connection at the main harness.Any help is still appreciated tho.I want to make this reliable so I can sell my work car to put a downpayment on a house I went and looked at last week.MIKE WHERE ARE YOU???

Well my green/yellow wire turns to a blue/white wire at the main harness junction. But I can't find it in the cabin.Any ideas where to find this so I can figure out why this wire is dead all of a sudden?

thanks
