Well, actually it depends on the color of the smoke. Im sure you know already that white smoke is coolant/water, and blue smoke is oil.
Now, was the engine broken in properly? If not, that would be a good reason for a premature seal failure. Also, is the OMP hooked up and working? Is it metering too much oil into the float bowls of the Holley? Or, are you running pre-mix and the mixture is WAY off? Are you sure the carb mixture is right and not WAY rich? I know with my Weber when it was REALLY rich it would smoke a lot also, but I could jet it down a little on the main jets and it would go away.

Hey RacerX and T.j;
Yes it is Blue Smoke and I'm burning up a Quart Of Castroil 20-50 evey 500 miles.
I broke the engine in with Mineral Oil and never went over 4000rpm (I think fot the first 500miles).
Anyhow I gots a shitload of money invested in my Beauty and don't want to do it all over again.
Any suggestions????
Mikie! You can get into this one yourself.
Compression is perfect. No oil leaks and the car loves to go to 140 plus (Miles that Is).
I've got the oil metering pump blocked and am running Combo MMO and 2 cycle oil at 1 oz per gallon. Sure runs great with a littke MMO added to it.
Any ideas besides a complete tear down would be gatefull????
Have a Great Weekend All
