Thumbs up

I have a 1974 RX2 with a j-spec 12a, RB header, 5- speed, locking diff w/ 4.88 gears, koni struts, adjustable sway bars, 450 & 250 lb springs and a full roll cage. The car was raced in scca and irdc in the ITA class several years ago. Was a very competitive car in its day, and may be once more. The Koni suspension is leaking oil, and one of the struts is no longer damping. I know that I can have them rebuilt, but the rebuilders want like $500. They want even more money to revalve them and shorten them, and another 100 each to add a compression adjuster. Is there any way to modify 1st gen rx7 struts to fit the rx2? Rx7 stuff is still readily available. Is there any one who makes a dual adustable strut for these cars anymore? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Also, is there anybody around that still races these things?

i haven't followed the vintage racing for a while, so i can't answer if they are still raced. I'm sure a lot of people still drag them though. If i could get my hands on a 2 iwould get it without thinking. Good luck finding what you need though. I know racing beat used to sell a lot of basic suspension parts for the older rx's. you might wanna see if they still carry anything.

I just jumped on racing beat and it says they do sell the front struts (koni) for the rx2s. hopefully thats all you need. they aren't that expensive either.

Yeah those shocks new should be no more than like $100-150.00(new). Your revalveing guy is bugging. Check both Racing Beat and or Mazdatrix's.com

You can also give Koni themselves a call and see what they got , or were you can go to get what you need. But definitely tell your shock pro to play in traffic.
