Need more info

Is it a constant howl? Does it increase with speed? does it go away with the clutch depressed? Any vibration?

Knowing none of these, I could only guess... rear diff, U-joint, wheel bearing - and if you drive an auto (God forbid), maybe torque converter

I had a crack in the diff by the spring perch that caused vibration and noise

Based on that, I don't know - maybe if I ask you a few questions>...

Is it only happening when you brake?

Will it go away when you lift off the brake?

the vibration has me puzzled... that could be as simple as alignment issues (usually show up around that speed) - probably not related unless the vibration is from the rear??

More info please

I would look into getting a new set of brake shoes/pads depending on weather you have drum or disk brakes.
