In my friend's (maybe mine in the future) 84 GS I noticed that there are almost as many solenoids and vacuum hoses as on my 93. If I ditch the cat, which I will, can I get rid of some of those solenoids and hoses? If so, which ones can I get rid of? Thanks.

You can basically take the entire thing off and garbage it.Mine has a 5 wire engine harness now. :bigok: Unless you have emissions tests then you might want to keep them around.Mine met file 13 a while back.Just remember to run a pair of vaccum lines from the distributer to the carb.I'm not to sure how well it will work if you have the Nikki carb.I did the rats nest removal when I swaped to the 13b.

coolant temp sensor

oil pressure sender

and you could leave the choke thingee (back of the water pump) so the choke magnet works.

Supposedly there is some float bowl solenoid or something for the Nikki carb that you need to leave on. Its been so long since I had a stock carb I don't remember it.

The white and red wire is part of the main engine harness. The wires that are left is 2 for the alternator harness.Oil level sender and pressure. And I think the other one is the tempature sender. Not too sure.Eveything still works good. But I'm running aftermarket carb so all I have to do is run two vaccum lines and take everything off the engine. To see my engine bay just click on the underlined part in my sig.I have the new pics up.
