Why would it be a problem? I'm planning on making my own out of fibreglass soon https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png I always have been taught that colder air going directly into the engine would help the gas burn better than hot dense air. Altho the mass of my car knowledge is from non-carburated cars, so the tables might be turned when talking about ram-air/cold-air intakes. But I doubt it *shrug* Edumahkate me plZ.

Also a note: I experimented with putting a larger filter in the air canister and locking it down so there was about an inch of open space around the entire canister. This way the carb got more air, but in reality, it was only getting the hot air from the surrounding engine and I noticed a SEVERE lack of horsepower. Put it back to stock and it runs like a champ. I thought I had more air movement thru the engine compartment, but after that little adventure, I'm quite sure it would be a better idea to grab nice cool air from in front of the car, rather over the engine block.

goddamnit i'm rambling again.

EDIT: fixed for you. (the edit button has about a 10min time limit)

I was just curious, thats all. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png Never heard of it being done much on a carburated car before.
