Questions about my 85 GS

here's another question...a lot of the time after i start it it idles oddly, and drives a little wierd...the engine will pulse...if you look at the tach, it will jump a little then go back down then jump a little, at idle and just driving along...it goes away after about 10 minutes of driving, but i don't know what it is..is it a timing problem?

does the1st gen havea tps sensor. i dont know **** about them. if it does i would try adjusting it and see if that still happens. had the same problem w/ my TII and it went away when i adjusted the TPS correctly. Congrats on the car and damn it has a clean body.

Pull the contacts on the ignitors and clean them. The tach reads off of the trailing ignitor, so you might get away with just cleaning that one. Pull the contacts off the coils and do likewise. It's a safe bet nobody's done it in the past decade... B)

ok now i'm just distraught...i started it up today, and it sputtered..and it died...and it happened again...and again...and i waited, and came back and it started and i let it run for a bit, then put it died as i was backing out of my driveway
