So two months without any updates...
I ran into some problems with the ReSpeed big brake kit because I still had 12a ebrake lines! Billy was kind enough to sell me some stockers that he used to prototype the kit: Attachment 18988 Attachment 18989 You can see the differences between the two. After some hard work and a lot of WD-40 I was able to take out the old lines and install the new ones: Attachment 18990 Tomorrow I'm going to pick up some bolts (Billy recommended 5/16" w/ lock nuts) for the axle plates: Attachment 18991 ...after which I should be able to *finally* finish the rear end for good. Now that I think about it I might have one more small problem, and that is the brake hardline on the axle. I didn't check that last time I was under there so that might be necessary... If you were quick you noticed the fuel filter dangling...I think I've decided to get a sump and keep the external pump...any objections? |

Updates! After a struggle with the axles, Billy and I realized I had a small bearing rear end. :headslap:

I ordered a surge tank from TweakIT today and also emailed Billy to make sure I'm looking for the right wheels.
It's extremely difficult to find something that fits, remains light, and looks good all at the same time. :( |

I still don't have a clue what some of those are. I don't know if I just can't read the manual or what...haha. I want to keep heat though -- I didn't remove the core. I'm making progress. I should have the Respeed rear brakes on this weekend. I installed the RB dual belt pulley but I'm afraid that I might have dropped a thrust bearing: I unbolted the main eshaft bolt, not all the way, just sort of broke it loose, and then remembered that I should have the motor upright. I moved it and then removed the bolt. I hope I didn't cause any damage. I finished clear-coating my new water pump and after I install it I guess I'll know for sure. If the pullies line up I'll be golden. I've already purchased everything to replace the bearing if necessary so...we'll see. EDIT: I don't need to know where that extra nipple on the waterpump goes since I have a new one now https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.gif. I've been working on a project for 3 years now and have had a similar problem. The first thing I did was pull the motor out. I did'nt label much of anything and now the time has come to put the rebuilt motor in. After staring at boxes, drawers and bags of parts, with no memory of where anything goes. I decided to go to a local junkyard and take some detailed pics of engine bays to figure out where everything goes. I've been checking out your project for quite a while. I'm pretty sure I saw that plate you need on the back of your intake on Racing Beats web site.Check it out or give them a call it might save you the trouble of making one.
