Here are some pics of the car. I picked her up for $800 with a blown oil cooler. Had 27000 miles on her.

a holley 600 is always good. but some people go with the holley 450 (i have a spair if you go this way)
webers, del'orto, and mikuni style carbs are the ****, but exspensive and way harder to tune. but have more precise tuning. if you convert to GSL-SE rear, you might want to convert the front too. the lug pattern is different. so your rims will not match. 4x110 non SE cars.....4x114.3 for SE cars. |
an SA, just like mine. but yours is in wayyyyy better condition. lol
27000!!!!! wow!!! thats some low milage!!! especially for an SA! you would neeevvverrr see one like that here in Orlando! especially not for no 800! nice find!!! |
haha thanks on the comments. So it seems like i have a pretty good idea on what i want to do. Again all you guys been alota help. Thx

that IS a nice SA.
um just on you suggestion list, skip the hawk brake pads, hawk = crap, ebc is good, carbontech is better, hell even stock is ok. hawks are really hard on the rotors, and then all the hot metal coming off the rotors from the hawks, ends up all over the car, it usually ruins the wheels. step up to the tokiko illuminas, they are a little better shock, although the blues arent bad at all for a mild setup (stockish port) a modded stock carb and good exhaust, works well. the stock carb is on the small side, but it is actually a good match for the stockish engine. the carb does need to be rejetted, as it runs too rich etc 15x7 wheels fit, 7.5 should fit in the back but it'll be really tight, so measure carefully so a car setup like how you want it is FUN, so enjoy |

If your doing auto-X, I'd consider a Sterling carb. Plenty of flow, about 475 cfm if I recall. A lot of people say the Holleys don't like going sideways.

yeah the holley's dont like high g turns |
yeah...holleys do bog on hard turns. but they have a float and bowl upgrade for circuit use that elimintaes that completely.
i have the stock wheels on my SA with a 245 in the rear. no rubbing. bu8t i have the FB stock wheels and 83-85 LSD disc brake rear. dont know if that makes a difference... 245 is, thats 9 inches i think? (thats what she said...lol) |
I have had almost every port cofigueration minus PP and full Bridge. Stock is cool up grade the carb fuel system and exghaust. conservative street port, nothing super special. better sound better power of course, still kinda mild. Big street port good I like it its what I have now. good tourque if u will. Pulls hard to 9k. half bridge is SWEET, the sound brap brap brap brap killer top end lots of fun! Gas mileage sucks but to me its worth it. So to sum it up if fuel mileage isnt an issue go half bridge. I hate makeing Hp clamis but I wana sa with a sweet tune 12a Halfbridge all motor 180RWHP???maybe a bit higher. I never got mine dynoed? A close seconed would be large street port verry driveable an hp can be real close.
