this months project is going to look suspiciously like an intake manifold |
perhaps some bead blasting and high temp ceramic coating could make the list too!
clean shortblock and tranny.... nice
Holy peripheral port batman!
engine and trans are new... i changed my mind about painting the car.... it might just stay black
looking good
a little progress has been made.
i'm a lot closer on the wiring, i just need to put the grounds in. wrapping will happen later, i like to make sure it works first. we made flanges for the carb, it gets welded up in the next week or so paul built me a set of K2 camber plates so i can get rid of the ground controls, although i did spend an afternoon aligning it already... oh well what else? new upper hose is on the way, so i can put coolant in it. brakes are in, clutch is in.... need to readjust the steering box, somehow i got more effort AND more play |

i wanna stay "vintage correct" like if mazda offered a sports kit in 1982. plus if you do it right (ive been there, just missed this time) you can actually get most of the play out of the box
I'm siding with Tyson in changing the header from 1764 vintage to something a tad more cleaner/modern https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif

its personal preference but i actually like the stock ratio, especially on a roadcourse. you turn wheel 60-90 degrees, and steer with your right foot https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif |

What's legal noise levels in your commie neighbourhood? Anything above lawnmower noise is deemed too loud?

it depends, if you're a harley, louder is better. if its an s13/s14 they will pull you over and pop the hood, just to check. so i dunno, in theory we have a 92db limit? but in reality its whatever the cop decides, if he's wrong you can go to the ref, and they measure it, and then court, but that is more expensive than the ticket. so either way its a loose |

Agreed. With a turbo you could get a lot of power with minimal noise, but PP? Forget about it. Might as well have done a bridge and shot for an even idle.
yeah we'll see i guess.
You're an outstanding citizen im sure they wont mind a little noise!
i hope not, they get noise when this starts weather they want it or not!
BTW you guys are making me feel bad i havent touched peepers in a while |
