I figured it was about time to change my oil...cuz it was lookin pretty dang bad...It was leaking or burning some even with the new engine...which I thought was a tad crazy...its brand new!...but anyway...I drain it all out....an I'm sure I got it all out...then put the plug back in...pour in the new 5 quarts of 5W30...and I pour the old 10W40 into the jug the new oil came in...and it only has about 3 quarts in it....WHAT??

I'm in the habit of checking every fluid in the car before I go anywhere...and the dipstick has registered full for the last 2 months...on level ground of course...and thats even after wiping it off and sticking it back in there...pulling it out...I don't know what the deal is

But that might explain my oil pressure randomly being anywhere from 50 to 70 while I'm driving...I guess...its just freaky

I also have no interior lights...I don't know what they did to my car when they touched the paint up...but its jacked...in dash clock is also dead...but it comes on if I turn the lights on...dash lights as stuff...and will stay on until I turn off the car...got one out of another rex thats in my floor...i'll put it in later to see if that fixes it

I'm going to blame the lights not working on my doors...the little push button that turns them on and off...the stupid things have caused me so many problems its not even funny

that and my power side mirrors seem to be working randomly...if I play with them enough...they work for a little while...then die

It's not like I can really see anything out of any of the mirrors anyway...those subs hit so hard it looks like I'm driving thru an earthquake

Guess i'm just venting a little...nobody here wants to talk about my car...and even if its a pain in the butt sometimes...i luv that car to death

Oil cooler will hold some oil, oil metering pump puts enough oil into the combustion chamber to burn about a quart every 3000 miles.

Push button light sensors can be easily repaired, wire insulation has probably gotten brittle and cracked, allowing the wire to ground out on the chassis.

1984...I wasn't even aware that I had an oil cooler anywhere on the car...I know they're usually up in front of the radiator...and all I've got there is the old AC crap that doesn't work anymore

What fuse is the interior lighting on...dome light...and all that crap

My in dash clock died the same time...and I replaced it with another one...doesn't work either...so I'm hoping for a bad fuse somewhere

Hmmm...perhaps I'm just bad at reading the dipstick or something

I spilled a small ammount on the ground...and theres probably a small ammount still in the engine...and in the can i poured it into...so I guess its possible i could be off by a quart or so...and it has been a long while since I added any

yep yep...beehive...totally forgot that thing was a "cooler"...sure is ugly as sin...but hey...i'm not complaining...atleast the filter is on top

Found two fuses cooked in the fuse box...either I have a short somewhere...or the lamos at the paint shop shorted something out when I had wires dangling everywhere...the "HAZARD" fuse controls the in dash clock, power side mirrors, dome light, door buzzer, rear hatch light

Sounds sorta strange to me to have all of that crap hooked into there...but hey...I don't really see any other fuses that would correspond...so I guess they had to put it all somewhere

Fluctuating oil pressure can be a sign of a non-working beehive (oil temp gets way too high). Is there sludge inside the oil filler tube?

I didn't see any last time I had it off...when I was stripping emissions

It all looks rather clean

I'm going to blame the fluctuations on the fact that I only had 3 of 5 quarts of oil in the car

Since I changed the filter and put some fresh 5W30 in there it seems to be doing just spiffy

You should keep an eye on that and the little oil pump on the front of the engine, if it goes and you dont notice it, your screwed., since it send oil straight through your carb to be burned with the fuel.
