oil leaking

ok i am new to rotary

i am going to buy a 1984 rx7 gs on saturday

the owner now says it leaks oil on the manifold is this a big fix or something that is not going to cost lot

also he said the steering the loose or something

any advice/help you can give me would be nice thanks

rotary's leak oil when they get old..... Oil leaking on the mainfold,,,,,,, probably exghaust mani.. Oil metering pump can leak an get every where. They have these little rubber elbows at the ends. they crack split and leak.... So cut the back and reapply see if leak goes away... Oil pan probably leaks easy fix can be done without taking motor out... You said 84,,,, so if it has the beehive oil cooler there two O rings on the bottom that make a big mess... easy fix 2 hose clamps to remove the collant hoses that run in amd out of the oil cooler and 2 10mm nuts cooler will come off flip and u will see 2 o rings that are rock hard



If the car starts right up cold buy it



If it take for ever to start turns and turns and u have to **** with the gas a bunch motor could have low compression... so the jew the guy down
