New GSL-SE project
#1
Well I now have a GSL-SE, first SE I've had actually. All my other FBs were 12A cars, but I should be fine since I'm used to working on FC fuel injected cars anyways.
I was offered a trade for my '85 GSL w/ 81K miles on it for this '85 GSL-SE w/ 123K miles on it... The deal was basically my car had a good body, but the engine wasn't running right and would need paint. This car ran fine, but needs body work and paint so I traded a non-running car for a running one. It's all good in my book.
My plans are to let this by my girls project.. she makes the choices. The basic idea is to just restore it with a nice paint job, keep the original engine for now (if it pops I might throw a T2 block in, dunno).
It was an FL car so NO rust on the underside or anywhere really, so that makes me happy. Has some kind of aftermarket springs up front that lowered it down. I didnt crawl underneath yet to see what they are, but I'll let you know.
The only thing it needs to be road-worthy is bleeding the brakes (they are soft) and probably tires - and wiper blades, lol. It puffs a little blue smoke at startup, but that goes away after a few minutes. It has a gutted cat as well, so it smells a little rich, needs minor TPS adjustments.
Anyways, here's a pic of the new toy. We havent decided on a color yet, but I'm thinking maybe a nordic green or gunmetal.

I'll fix my 5th & 6th ports and we'll see
Keith's GSL-SE is unmolested. All mine will have is front suspension, gutted cats, port matched manifolds and new hoses. Should be pretty close.
However, if I slap the RB exhaust on before our trip, should be fun.. Keith will still be louder though, lol.
