alright heres my dilemma guys, i have an 85 rx7 gs, my 12a has about 77k miles on it and runs good. i have had it for about 2 yrs and ever since i first drove it i knew it would become my weapon of choice, the problem is it only has about 10hp over stock and jus isnt fast enough anymore. id like to get atleast 200whp out of the equation but im not sure how to do it, should i soup up the current carb engine or do a turbo 2 swap? and if so wheres the best place to get parts for either? i have about $4000 for this project right now so im not super limited but jus am not sure the best route to go. sorry for the novel i wrote but somone help me, all opinions will be appreciated, thanks for any and all help

 

200rwhp is possible out of a street ported 12a, but you need a BIG port, and a good carb, and everything's gotta be setup just right. 180rwhp is more realistic out of an sp 12a.



if you want more, go turbo, you start around 180rwhp

 

Why don't you just turbo your 12a? I don't really understand why people put 13bt's in their car when 12a's are turbo'd all the time. Lower compression, stock setup who knows.



That is my 2 cents though. If my car came stock with a 12a. I would have just turbo'd that.

 

200whp. a 12a turbo set up with a really good blowthrough would do the ticket.

 

if i did do blow thru on my carb how horrible would my gas mileage be and dont ppl complain all the time about tuning carbs with turbos? im not really sure but i thought id ask
