I have a 79 RX-7 that I'm in the process of restoring. Its been sitting for several months and I've been working on it. I can get it to run, but it idles a little rough and wont drop below 1500. There is a lot of smoking after reving to 6000. The carb recently cracked, but the problems were there before it cracked. I was hoping someone could give me a list of what to check. I'd also appreciate some help with disabling emissions controls. Its so irritating because she is so close to running well, but just wont cross the threshold.

Thanks

Go back and check the basics first. Fuel & spark, pressure & timing.

Are you replacing the carb with a stock unit or are you going to go aftermarket?

Are you going to watch the Simpsons or American Idol?

Will the Eagles make it to the Superbowl next season?

Will Speed ever find out that Racer X is really Rex Racer, his older Brother?

Will there ever really be peace on earth?

These are all very important Questions.

Sorry, he had a bunch of "views" and no "replies" and I started feeling

playful and that was the result. I'll try to keep the Gen D posts in Gen D
