Thumbs up

Just had my a/c system rebuilt, new compressor, Exp. valve, blower resistor, swap to 134, adapter fittings, etc etc. Only drawback is that the car cannot cool down to save it's, and my life. The blower motor on recirc/high, feels like the blower on my 98 F-150 on normal/low. The whole box was dropped, evaporator cleaned out, clamps tightened and sealed, yet I have NO air volume. I am thinking the blower motor is just not up to par. Do any of the parts stores carry a DECENT blower motor, that won't be even worse than I have now? I am once bitten twice shy. About ten years ago I bought an Autozone blower with worse than the stock broken fan output.(86 Ford van). I need something that will MOVE some air. I'm not even sure a stock replacement will cut it, but I will try one. Just scared to ask the age old question of the parts counter guy.....How much?,,,,BB

Any of you guys been there done that, and found something that actually worked? I want to drive this car, not gut it and race it, hehe.

I have felt your pain(car not cooling) especially after work and the car is heat soaked in the FL sun, though the 7's blower is weak, the problem I had with it was the air wasn't really as cold as I think it should be, even with r-12. If the air isn't getting cold, a stronger blower isn't going to help, unless yours is actually defective .

After some research I replaced the condenser with a larger parallel flow unit, the stock condenser allows air to bypass it on all sides. The larger(and more efficient) one fit snug in the rad shroud, so all of the air has to go through it, and the oil cooler before it gets to the rad. The cooling is much better, but I think there is still room for improvment( blower and compressor).

Wow, you still have A/C. I use two windows down at 65mph as my blower

Well.... It was blowing cold for a couple of weeks, but it stopped

working today. I imagine it sprung a leak. The is a dye trail from one of the compressor pad line mounts, so I guess that's it for the most part. The RPM's drop so the compressor is running.,,,,BB

No a/c in a black car with black interior. I've had enough of that thank you very much
