Alright guys, so I left the Honda game. Too many thiefs, too much beef, and I just feel like a kid driving one, i'm only 21 though. My civic was ready for a GT42R Top Mount setup on a fully built b-series

So here I am looking through craigslist and I have always been an RX-7 fan and had this thing for first gens. So I found this 85, dude was talkin 900 firm. I did a little bit of research before I got there on the net, inspected the engine bay, the 12a looked bone stock, I spun the crank with my hand, no carbon lock. He's like the starter is bad. Body was decent, it has some rust but nothing that can't be repaired. Interior was mint. Car is red on black. I was like 750 and I tow it home right now. He agreed, put it on the trailer and headed to the shop. Grabbed some oil, coolant, and a starter on my way. Put the starter in, changed the fluids, little starting fluid in the carb, it cranked right over. The idle was high as **** 3500 with the choke out, I was told that the choke goes in by it self, but i have to do mine manually. Got the idle right around 600. I'm looking to restore the exterior and interior to mint stock shape, then I want to throw a 13B Cosmo in there, my plan is to make it a full time track car. Drag strip that is. I know that the GSL-SE would have been a better platform because there is already a 13B in it, which would make the swap alot easier. So where is all the literature on the swap, I did a little searching around in the FAQ, but could not find anything solid.

I'll post pictures of this beauty later.

the 13b swap is so easy. you need a GSL-SE oil pan, its a stock part, you can still get em new. then you can reuse the front cover off your old 12a, and you get the racing beat front mount bracket and the engine is in the car. or you can be old school and slot the mounting holes, the 13b is 20mm longer....
