Ok first off I'm new to nopistons and second I have a question about putting a 2nd gen engine into my 82 RX7. I have been researching this for some time though I've only had the car for about 6 months. I would have even concidered the swap but the poor thing was mistreated so badly by the owner. So what exactly do I need to get the engine in there I have read I need my 12A front cover and I can get an engine mount from racing beat is this truely all thats needed besides modding the tranny mount any help on this would be simply fantastic. thanks alot

There are no clearance issuses on the turbine. I have a rew motor in my car with a large single and it still fits.

There are a few major things that you are forgetting though. IMO getting the engine in there is not the big deal it is getting everything to function together. You will need a new driveshaft, wiring harness & OC(if you still have the bee-hive). I would also reccomend a boost gauge and Wideband if you are not running a stock setup.

Getting the engine bolted in is the cheap part. It is all the other stuff that will nickel and dime you...

If you need any other help let me know, I try to get on as frequently as possible, but sometimes my schedule does not permit me to.

That being said there are a few other people from the NW that might see this and help you out as well... they are all great assets.

right on thanks a bunch dude. i figured the pain in the **** would be the wiring not to worried about it though. i was planning just to run it with a stock set up im gettin a pretty good deal on the engine with all accesories the tranny uncut wiring and stock ecu. and for kicks how did you get the REW in there?

I don't know if the same is true with a 13b-T, but with my 13b Cosmo, I had to use the 12a oil pickup as well.

I did the same.

Now for the age old question... Are you seriously considering this? Plan to spend around 3-4k min on a stock setup...

The REW swap is not too much different from the 13bt. There are a few things that are slightly different. But for the most part the parts are interchangeable. If I had to re-do it I would probably run with a cosmo... there are a few things that make is more simple.

I did the same.

Yeah I plan on doing the swap I had anticipated that this would cost me about 5-6k. Just trying to get as much info as possible before I pull the trigger and start getting the major componets.
