wow, the RX7carl write up helped a lot, but i still seemed to **** it up. The freaking thing wouldn't start because of a few vacuume lines that wern't correctly plugged in. Now my car has the racing beat straight pipe (catless) , and emissions removed. it smells like a garden tractor but i love it , next i want to get the headers and a bigger carb, but i probley should get the FD done first heh

I'm running a setup similar to yours...minus the racing beat header...and a glass pack on the end

Instead of getting a "bigger" carb you might look into getting paul yaw to rework your stock carb for you...i'm assuming its the standard 4bbl nikki...I managed to get one that he worked on off e-bay...i must say its MUCH better than the origional i had

Altho...and this isn't carb related cuz i've ran it for a long time now...I was getting 21 to 23 mpg...and now I'm only getting 19 on a good day without the emissions...but my car had all but stopped running because of emissions failure in the rats nest somewhere

tell me how your MPG varys with the emissions gone now...i'm curious as to if it hurts or helps other peoples cars

? is ur car faster with emissions off now?? or more problems? also if ur car exhaust smells like a tractor ur running way to lean 13.1lbs of air to 1lb of gas is a good ratio play with carb until achieved

It does seem quite a bit faster...no bogging...and the idle is so smooth...never ran so good...i think I have the opposite problem he has...mine is WAY too rich

gobs of gas in the oil...unburned gas in the tail pipe as well I think

where is this infamous air/fuel adjustment screw on the nikki...?

And which way does it turn for rich/lean

I'm also assuming we need to take the car out for a spin to warm it up...then try to adjust...right?

Before I ripped this crap off my car would...eh...surge?...sounded like one rotor was getting more gas than the other...too much...none at all...not sure really

also at times I would get no idle at all...have to start it every time I stopped...and it ran like crap...bogging and missing all the time...

All gone now

I'll try to get a sound clip of the exhaust when I get it adjusted properly

oh no, my car gained a few horsepower and runs a lot smoother now then it did before, no more bogging and the gears seem to wind right through, donuts have never been so nice either !!!

ehm...I found this thing...on the back passenger side of the carb...little flipper doohiky that sorta scoops up with 2 arms...has a big spring with a plastic thing around the spring....then theres this bolt with a...uhm...barrel shaped thing...with 2 pegs on it...very hard to describe...it connects into the armature doohicky that the choke connects into

anyway...it seems to have dropped my idle to a solid 300rpm or so

from its fluctuating 800-1200 that I used to get

i've got a sound clip of the exhaust i'm going to try and upload...coulda swore i saw a section for that before
