Yeah, thats true.

I wonder how hot it would get under there? Do you think the heat off the headlights would affect it? you should stick a thermometer in there and take it for a drive. I would have thought that there wouldn't be too much airflow there because the air would have to come under the car and up, where the air usually travels out the bottom of the car.
It's sort of a high pressure area under the bumper (after all, the stock radiator opening is there) so I think air will get to the cooler once I cut the bumper/valance. I think the biggest battle I'm going to face is routing the hot air comming off the cooler. I think I'm going to cut some of the body work away by the headlight motor and make a little duct to route it into the engine bay or maybe I could be real trick and louver my fender so it can exit there hmmm... But at first I'll just cut the bumper/valance and see what that gets me for oil temps. I'll cut the same holes/slots on the other side of the bumper/valance for a cold air intake for the turbo.

Maybe 6 or 7 louvers vented downward ??

But then, that might interfere with brake cooling ??

Still a thought though.

It should but you might want to vent both wheels wells. You don't want one front brake cooler than the other.

What happened to using the 79-82 Shorty 3 row radiator and the stock Oil cooler (directly under)

Less headaches, and much more than 800 CFM.
