New guy here. We recently purchased a very nice 84 GS (12A) with only 66K on it. I gave it the basic tuneup, plugs, wires, cap/rotor and MSD Blaster coils. Really woke it up. I also purchased a Jacobs FC1000 ignition unit, haven't wired that in yet. I've spent some time searching this forum, couldn't find what I need. Basically, I just need some insight and/or a wiring map for hooking this unit up, the instructions are very generic, and I for sure don't want to make a mistake at this level.

I found a link on a 2nd gen install. im not shure if that unit will work on the 12A with the non-electronic ignition. http://www.rotaryheads.com/modifications/FC1000/

try pming Jeff20B he should be able to give you some insight on how to hook it up. He's the man when it comes to ignition wiring.

Well, I called Jacobs and asked them today. FYI, wiring this unit is different than an MSD. With the Jacobs they say to just wire it to the primary coil, leave the trailing coil to do its own thing. With the MSD 6A you wire the 2 coils together. Interesting.
