I got the official Mazda wiring diagram from the 84 and it said that the horn relay was under the dash. After a few days of being upside lookin in my dash and not finding it, I was getting really pissed off. In the end I tried to trace the wire from the horn and found the relay under teh hood/bonnet hidden behind the battery at the very front of the car. So much for official wiring diagrams.

In the end, I made a harness myself out of the factory stereo mounts, and temporarily filled in the graphical equailzer hole with a piece of perspex in which I've mounted my tweeters from my speakers. Good enough for now, I'm waiting to find out from www.rotorhead.ca if they can make a dash kit for me and send it to Australia where I live.

I'm in Perth, Western Australia. They said they don't have the kit for the guages I have in Silver, and didn't say anything about the dash, so I might have to get back to them again.

I replaced my horn relay and the horn worked perfectly fine, then I went for a drive and found that whenever I turned a corner, the horn made a noise. I was like WTF!!, but when I investigated behind the steering wheel, I found that the rubber surround on the boss kit for the sports s/wheel had split, so the copper pin that moves in the circular track for the horn was getting earthed at certain points where the rubber had split. I tried auto silicone to replace the bits of rubber, and that worked, but in the end, I figured better safe than sorry and bought a new boss kit.
PS If none of this makes any sense, I'm writing a how-to and problem solving on my web site. soon...
