Bought an 85 Gsl-se...went and picked up the car and some clown had ripped all the injecion stuff out and put a 12a in it. I guess wehn the 13b died they went the cheap route. So now I need a gsl-se 13b and all the wiring electronics to get her going correctly.

Thats the emmisions stuff (rats nest) that the earlier posts were talking about.

Scruch 09-30-2003 04:36 AM

oh .. understand i for the emission in the 12a i have a strange header with a in ports, that where is a compressor that pomp air into the exhaust...

drifter 09-30-2003 08:03 AM

You mean your acv? (air control valve) It pumps fresh air into the exhaust to keep emissions down.

Can you get rid of the emissions stuff on the 13b-DEI like you can on the 12a? I found a tutorial for removing the rats nest but nver heard about doing it for the real gsl-se 13b which I will have again one of these days.

There's not much benefit to doing it to the 13b, as it's fuel injected, and doesn't have quite the mess to deal with the 12a has.

Well, i was basically wondering b/c i want my car to have the correct motor in it and I am gonna have to buy everything, sensors, air flow sensors, air pump, everything to get it back to stock configuration...i was just trying to eliminate some cost.
