does anybody know of a site that explains how to remove all of the smog components from a 1'st gen. 12A? How hard is this to do? I have the block off plate for the air pump, but I have heard that you really need a dual alternator pulley. What else is there to do? Thanks....

I heard you only need the pulley if you plan to use Power Steering and Air Conditioning.I have niether on mine so I run a stock pulley.

if you are just running the altenator I would get a dual pulley, because too loose it makes noise and if you get it too tight it sound like a jet and there is barely a happy medium. with the dual pulley it works real nice, haven't had any problems with it ever. BUt I did run it without air pump, p/s and a/c for 6 months with out a problem. Just had a squeaky belt sometimes.
