A customer where I work at has a 83 GS or GSL(not sure of model) for sale. Power everything. New clutch, slave cylinder, tires, all maintenance. It has under 100k miles on the chassis and engine. The paint is fading which I could understand it is 22 years old. If I got it I would have it repainted black. No scratches, dents, dings. No blemishes at all. New carpet in interior. He says the interior is flawless. I would hope so with only 100k on the odo.

He wants 1500 for it. I could offer him 1300 cash. Would you go for that type of price?

Not sure of color though, never asked that. Tell me what ya think guys.

Thanks

Justin

Get it, GSL is limited slip and with under 100k on it the blue book is still around 2000 I would guess. 1300 cash in the face is hard to say no to. Good luck!

I thought about it, and he would probably only take 1500. I have no problem with that. It has a new clutch, tires, and slave cylinder. I think even a new brake master cylinder. I forget

I will eventually boost it later in its life. I have thought about it, and it would be just sexy.

ok, I will keep all my questions in this thread then. i don't want to flood 1st gen spec with questions.

Could the GSL rear end handle 350+hp? Or would it eventually go out and I am stuck on the road with a broken diff?

The 12a is carb'd right? How reliable are the carbs? I had a 84 truck and it sucked. Is it automatic choke, or a hand choke??

I think that is all for right now.

Thanks

Justin

the rearend holds up pretty well considering that most V8 swaps stick to the stock rearend, so IMO it should be fine.

all first gens Ive owned (Im sure its over 14 by now)and seen have all been hand choke.

Cool, that is pretty much all for now until I do a 13b-RE swap. If anyone else has any information to add that is helpful, I am welcome to them.

Why? Do some research on the 12A motors they are strong as hell and I have found quite a few people that boost them. Check out www.rotaryshack.com and look at Robert's 1st Gen, he has a badass 12A.
