Check your alternator, it sounds like it's not keeping up.

Yeah...that or the battery. My car wouldn't start with the AC on and it turned out the battery was shot.

Your batery is there to help you start your car, once your car is running your alternator takes over, had that problem once and the batery was 3 months old.

Ahh..but you see, since the battery replacement, car starts up fine. Plus, before I replaced my battery, everything in the car would shut down for a second when I hit the brakes...None of that happens now and its been 2 months since the replacement...

I think every RX7 has its own quirks. Mine is an electrical nightmare, but with all said, its most likely the Alternator or Battery.

easy check...with car running, disconnect the batt. if the car dies your alt is bad.

i had the same problem. new battery, tried 3 different alts and the alt woukd get way hot to the touch. one of teh alts got as hot or hotter than the radiatior. im sure it was a wire somewhere, maybe a bad ground. but since the car idled at 1500 rpms, the drop didnt make that much a difference. god forbid it was raining though....
