I recently picked up an '85 GSL-SE I've been eyeballing for a while now for $500... One thing I was wondering about it was the stainless wraparound on the roof. I've never seen another one and I could only find information saying that Mazda offered an IMSA package as an add-on option. Would this be it?

Anyone else have more info?

Thanks!

Alright.. So I'm seeing a few targa add ons on ebay... they're multiple piece, and the one I have is one piece. Plus it just says Mazda on the side, not targa...

Anyone have some insight into this?

If i recall properly .. the earlier ones were a 3 piece the later ones were a one piece or vica versa.

YES. WHAT YOU HAVE THERE IS A DEALER OPTION IMSA APERANCE PACKAGE THAT WAS OFFERED IN 84-85. IT INCLUDED A FRONT AIR DAM AND A 3 PIECE WRAP AROUND SPOILER. THE STAINLESS STEEL PIECES ON THE TOP ARE REFERED TO AS A " TARGA TOP."

you have an IMSA package if you have everything listed above. if you got that for $500 you got one heck of a deal.
