I am just curious of the effects of the E-manage unit on a street ported gsl-se. I know there are systems like Haltech that has been proven good but I think this one is more user friendly. If any info on it please reply. By the way I am new to the forum but have owned 2 rx-7s I have been following this forum for the past 4 months. I just became a member. Thanks for the info and replies.

the gsl-se uses a 0-12v afm, the greddy is meant for 0-5v stuff that most later cars use

Not to jack this thread, but how well does a Megasquirt work on a 20B? It's for fuel only, NA. I think it'll be in my engine's future if I can't get a carb to work. Primaries and secondaries will be stock with a custom secondary rail (for future 1600cc injectors).

all the crap required to use the e-manage is sold sep. including the program disc.

The Megasquirt will handle boost. The thing I don't care for on the MS is the lack of any real program on the fly capability. The 68HC908 doesn't have any EEPROM - it's all flash I believe. So, the maps are basically part of the code download. From what I'm encountering with my DFI (which DOES program on the fly), this is a big problem.

The impression I get anyway is that the Windoze configurator program is used to make the MS maps off line, then they are sent to the unit.

Also regarding the GSL-SE, I though I read somewhere that a car with a good exhaust will peg the AFM way short of redline, so I would think the performance applications would be limited.

NA, in this, case isn't much of a power loss over the stock twins. RETed's latest NA project is around 5HP lower than the stock twins. I'm still laughing about that one. I'll stick with NA for now. Carbed first, but if it doesn't work very well, I'll go with FI.

So mega squirt will work good but it does only fuel and not ignition and other things. Who has this Mega squirt and how good does it work for you. Also why is the Greddy E-manage not so good I have a chance to buy the whole set-up for a good price will it not work or what. It does say for 13B engines. If not can I make it work and would it be worth it.It sounds pretty convienent tuning your car via laptop.
