I got myself a parts car tonight, series 2 with a shitty engine and a less than glamourous body, its unlicensed and blows smoke, but the important thing is, its almost exactly the same as my 84!(minus the sunroof). I'm kinda glad we Aussies didn't get the new dash for the 84-85. Everything is the same, including the power windows and mirrors and stuff. Actually, the interior is in a good condition, this car is a stocker, even more stock than my stock 84. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png
I have no pics as yet, as I just got it and its too dark for proper shots. :squint: I got a parts car, STOKED!! :bigthumg: |
cool, i love having tons of stuff to play with, when i build a car

I'm not planning on cutting the whole back half off, but I am using parts off it, for the 84. The bonnet(hood) is in mint condition, no rust at all, and the interior mouldings(although full of spider webs) are in a heap better condition than the ones in my 84. I've inspired one of my friends by giving him a drive in it and he's now planning to buy off me whatever I have left once I finish. (Thats partly why I'm not chopping the rear half). |
|
hmm that actually doesn't look too bad

Yeah, unfortunately, once you get close enough to see how its been resprayed and that all the panels have cracks through the paint with orange seeping rust... well, you get the idea. The parts I need are there though, so I can justify the expediture, also one of my friends is buying whatever I don't use for his own project later. He can deal with the body. :smirk:

yeah now that i look closer you can see the rust, oh well perfect parts car

I love aussie front signals. The optional driving lights are a nice touch if you don't want to run fog lights.I want to get a pair one day. :bigthumg:
|
We have really tight laws on the use of fog lamps, mainly cos we dont get that much fog. (plus we have some nazi traffic cops). Basically if you have them on and its not that foggy, you get a $50 fine. I narrowly escaped a fine once, cos he couldn't find it in his code book. haha. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png
