good deal?

Well, it's been a looooooong time since I've visited nopistons, but I think I'll be back regularly soon...
My first car was an '84 GS, stock w/ 180k on it, and I killed it (trust me the ATF trick was done many times). Since then I've been into Hondas a lot since they are cheap as dirt around my town, and they are ridiculously easy to swap. Anyway, right now I have a '90 civic hatchback w/ an Integra LS motor, and the motor has a cracked sleeve. So I need a new motor...
Well, a fellow honda friend of mine recently got an 85 GS, and wants to trade me straight up as my car sits b/c he's desperate for a honda again (he likes to spray the crap out of his cars till they blow, so he can rebuild them and repeat the process). He doesnt know much about rotaries, and they are a lot more expensive to build than hondas, so that's why he wants back into hondas.
Anyway, the car's an '85 GS with 98k miles
3-4k on rebuilt 12A, atkins apex seals and mazda oem all other seals
racing beat intake man.
holley 600 carb
racing beat header w/ full 2 1/2" exh. (but still quiet...i think it has a flowmaster muffler and a resonator)
cold a/c!!
I just basically want a reliable daily driver, and yes i know the gas mileage is much dif. from the 4 bangers, but i wanted to know you guys' opinion on the deal. He said the carb just needs to be tuned (it will still start up and run fine after it warms up and you clear it out), and i'm guessing new plugs would be good too. I'm sure tuning tips for that carb have been posted 80 times, but i havent been here in a long time, so a good link would be helpful.
thanks for your input
