trailing ignitor

 

ok ill check that out. will it be a problem that its been sitting for 3 or 4 months?

 

ignitors are $180 at victoria british. maybe you can use that info while bargaining...

 

thanks for the info. with you guys saying that it might be the trailing ignitor it makes me wonder if what i said initially made sense so ill try it again. from what the guy told me it seems to be getting fuel to the injectors, or almost there, but not into the chambers or intake. i havent looked at it yet and now that i think about it it makes sense that it could just be flooded. if it was flooded and he thought it wasnt getting fuel, im sure he just kept cranking and let it fill up even more, although i dont know how extensive his knowledge of the rotary is, so i dont know how likely that would be. does that change anything, or do you guys still say trailing ignitor?

trailing ignitor generates the tach signal ecu fires from tach signal. no trailing ignition = no fuel injection

whats the reliability look like on a 215k mile 85 13b?

 

ive seen em go 300+k miles. but its old enough to depend on how well it was taken care of.
