well i got my engine bay all cleaned out today all the wiring all the interior its all gone going to swap my 13B-REW into it once i save 1600 to get it and put it in which might take a while being 16 at mcdonalds, and plus get the 12a piece of crap out of it. btw i need to know of any swap kits for the 13B-REW from the FD to go into my 79 FB

There are no "swap kits". What is wrong with your 12a? why not turbo that? It takes a little more than 1600 for a REW swap...trust me...

$1600 is a tight budget, but if you already have an REW and a TII tranny you could probably do it. Research and buy your ECU first, that's probably the most expensive thing. A Haltech, harness, and sensors will run you over $1000 but you could put together a Megasquirt on the cheap in a pinch.
A driveshaft would cost about $300, and you really need a better radiator than stock first gen, which can get pricey. Other than that it can be done with sourced/junkyard parts. You need a 12a front cover, GSL-SE oil pan, FC water-pump and housing, an FD flywheel. |
well i found a motor tranny ecu all that for 1600 plus i figure ill spend around 2k to get it all done and that 12a is shot ran without oil and its got 120k miles so i figured id go with a 13B-REW

ok so the front part of my '79 12A will fit the front of a 2003-05 13B-REW?
|
I cannot speak to that but on my swap (SE front cover) there were a couple bolt holes that did not match up. Seals just fine.
|
ok well can someone give me a complete rundown of what i have to do to get that 13B into my car, and what tranny i need
