I'm about to pull my power window racks out and bash them with a sledge hammer. Please help if you can? I was trying to pull them in a bit to make the weatherstrips work, and ran into the same old problems. The window gets about halfway up, then will no longer move backwards. It hits the front pillar and seems to go nuts. The front of the window falls off the channel, the rear corner continues straight up, and misses the corner, etc etc etc etc etc.... I see no reason at all for this happening. It's like the entire rack is so loose the window cannot stay in the channel where it belongs. When the rack is removed from the door, there's no slop at all, and it works fine, and straight. Does anyone have any tips? I know the rear channel cannot be adjusted, which is worst design I've ever seen. The entire window alignment relies on a solid welded piece?? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif ,,,,,BB I've been working on the some problem recently. I replaced the regulator with another, the rear still wouldn't follow the channel. Then, I lengthened the adjustment slot with a round file. It helped alot but not enough. Seems like the top part of the front channel needed to be moved in but there isn't any adjustment for it. |
I had this same pboblem awhile back. I ended up drilling a new hole about a half inch back from the factory hole. Now it no longer jumps out of the track and almost completely got rid of the gap on top.

I still haven't fixed it, but they do stay in the tracks. They seem to have found a groove and stayed in it, so to speak. The pass. side has to be held slightly towards the back to fit the upper frame, and the drivers side just has to be hit lightly with the the side of my hand to jump into the upper frame at the very top. I also disassembled my switches, and cleaned out all the green goo, cleaned the contacts, and reassembled. They're MUCH more reliable. Kudos to mazda for at least making the switches re-buildable!,,,,BB
I still can't roll them up on the freeway, lol. I guess the force of the wind sucks the windows outwards? |
