I'm about to pull my power window racks out and bash them with a sledge hammer. Please help if

you can?

I was trying to pull them in a bit to make the weatherstrips work, and ran into the same old

problems. The window gets about halfway up, then will no longer move backwards. It hits the front

pillar and seems to go nuts. The front of the window falls off the channel, the rear corner continues straight up,

and misses the corner, etc etc etc etc etc.... I see no reason at all for this happening. It's like the entire

rack is so loose the window cannot stay in the channel where it belongs. When the rack is removed from the door, there's no slop at all, and it works fine, and straight. Does anyone have any tips? I know the

rear channel cannot be adjusted, which is worst design I've ever seen. The entire window alignment

relies on a solid welded piece?? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif ,,,,,BB

well if its really bad it needs the regulator, but if its kinda bad it needs the glass run channel, 8871-58-605C, sometimes also with the power window cars, the door bends outwards, and needs a little tweak to be right again.

I was planning on doing the glass channel and the window felts. So that may help me

huh? What puzzles me, is that will not move back, and follow the rear channel. I got it to stay in the track finally, but there's still a gap at the upper rear. If I push back it closes, but that will get old fast on rainy days. Good news though. It seems to have stopped leaking for the most part.,,,,BB

it is adjustable up and down, although if its really loose and sloppy it needs a new regulator.

they are availble without the motors, under $100. FA02-58-590 for the right, FA02-59-590 for the left

It was a gap side to side, not up and down. Is the adjustment the two bolts towards the back? Those seem to have no effect on anything.,,,,BB

lol i think we're talking different front and backs....

there is an adjustment, the 2 holes that are slotted, it doesnt do much though

Not necessarily. Mine have never worked right, even after I replaced the regulators. If the center rivet on the regulator is loose and the metal around the rivet is worn, then replace the regulator. If the rivet is loose and everything else is good, replace the rivet with a bolt, locknut, and two washers.

i had the same problem. i tried to adjust the front channel but like stated earlier, the adjusting slot is so small not much adjusting could be done. what i ended up doing was drilling a new hole for the bottom of the guide about a half inch further in from the slot to tighten the window up. it didn't completely eliminate the gap in the top corner but made it 80% smaller and it never falls out of the guides anymore. hope that helps.

I may try that, mine is kind of set into an indention though. I'm also doing new channels and felts too, but after it gets painted. On that note, is anyone else shocked how easily the fender tops dent? Mine look pitiful, and I think it's just from me working on it?

i replaced the factory crank windows with the stock power windows... the passenger window works fine, but i run into the same track jumping, etc with the drivers side...

thanks for the info, hopefully i can take it apart today and see what i can do...
