Nice!

Do I have any pics of the finished product? Yeah, a couple, but they aren't in RX-7s. Check out my website in the ignition section. All those pics are two or more years old.

www.thepartsbin.com

I personally like the www.tirerack becuz for a first gen 84 Rx-7 its pritty hard to find some wheels that will fit your car, and they norrow it down to all the possible wheels that can be installed on ur car, you can also buy them from that site also !!

Well...I went ahead and picked up the ignitors (again)...today...this time they actually look good...unlike the CRAP oreillys sold me...thats probably been sold to a dozen people already...these are obviously brand spankin new

I've got these setting on the 1/4" allumnium heatsink plate that I made...fits perfectly over on the drivers side of the engine bay...sorta back behind the fuseable links box...I'm picking up the other ignitor saturday on my way to the "import shootout" at the local drag strip....still not sure if I'm gonna race my rex...atleast not yet...I want to be sure i'm ready

probably do a lil street racing on the way...but thats quite usual for me...my buddy in his trans-am with a 350 wants to race (again)...i'll atleast give him a run for his...uh...well...not money...but a run for fun?...I guess

last time we went cruisin he was like..."man, your exhaust is LOUD!!!"

heres a shot of that plate in its current state...these wells ignitors look so sexy on it!

Got my 3rd ignitor today...and the coils are on their way...so just have to wait now

The wiring is pretty much done already...i'll just have to hook it all up after I drop it down in the car...i'm attaching a photo of what I have right now below...the wire protectors and such are on the way...100feet of that black slip over cover for less than 10 bucks...now that i've got this taken care of I'm going to do a little work on my intake junk so it will be ready to go in tomorrow

if you look at rotary632's pictures...i'm mounting this plate where his two coils are setting...two of my coils are going to be mounted waaaay down below the ignitors...resting againt the fan shroud...the leading...and the trailing coil will be in its stock location...i'll be sure to take a gob of pics when this is all done

Cool

Ok...got all the dung in my car...and I'm pretty sure it is firing all the coils this time...but it seems to be...irratic...like i'll back the choke down to 1000 rpm and the tach will bounce up about 2-300 or so...then back...and bounce...then back...once every few seconds

does this mean I have the lines from the magnetic pickups switched??...i'm pretty sure red is hot and green is neg...but I'm not so sure how they're supposed to hook into the ignitor...the diagrams I found showed hot on the top left...then neg on the plug below it...and over on the right...it switches...which doesn't make sense to me

unless theres something else I'm overlooking...just figured that might be the problem...i'll try switching them around come daylight...I think the install looks good....but it was really dark...soooo

wooooo...its alive!!!

The red/green wires from the magnetic pickups...i switched them...either the diagrams I had showing which was hot and which was neutral on the ignitors is wrong...or the green on the pickup is actually hot...ah...either way...switched em...and vaaaaaaaaroom

the tach seems to go a little crazy when I first start it up...bouncing around a bit...but it stops after I rev the car...my car seems to be a bit quieter now somehow...and the exhaust doesn't stink nearly as bad as it used to

I'll get some gas mileage figures after my next trip to lil rock...settin on E right now...but thats only down 10 gallons cuz my float or something is jacked

I wonder...with the new ignition...will our cars perform better on higher octane gas now...I thought it was all because of how the gas atomizes in the rotary chamber...but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask...i'll just keep runnin 87 unless someone tells me otherwise

woooooooooooooo...vroooooooooooooom

(i'm working on the audio clip of my exhaust right now...and will post it in the download section as soon as its done)
