Was wanting to know what all can i loose on my 84 rx07, when i put on a header and exhaust. Do you loose the converter ? and do you loose the air pump and other parts on the engine? If anyone can help let me know

Installing a header will get rid of the exhaust manifold and cats. You'll need to get either a pre-silencer or a straight pipe to for where the cats were. Racing Beat and Mazdatrix sell some pretty good setups. You can also lose the air pump. If you still have the exhaust manifold heat shield and preheater pipe, toss them. With all that heavy exhaust gone, the difference will surprise you. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

Yeah, its a mod you can really feel when you gas it after the install. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683827.gif

I'm thinking of building a "Tubular Exhaust" Manifold. Not exactly a Header,

but at least a 15lb weight difference over the cast iron pig of a manifold.

maybe it will flow better?? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif

It better flow better.Mazda did a shitty job building the stock manifold.Anything with actual pipes off a flange beats it.

Smog FIghter, you probably already know this, but if you build your own MAKE SURE that both pipes connect after the exact same distance! You dont want one primary to be longer than the other.

Yeah, the =length thing, I should have enough room.

straight back with the front and around and back with the rear...

Yup thats pretty much how my racing beat setup is.

Might as well make the headers primaries go under the car to the rear heat shield the merge them there and make a over axel setup to bolt to it.The longer the primaries the better gains you'll have.My RB street header is nice but it could be longer. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png
