carb question
#1
hello,
This is the 3rd or 4th time I have had trouble with my stock carb so I'm going to replace it. Most of the internal parts are shot as the rotary mechanic told me...and it currently runs like a motor boat...almost no power...but a good idle.
Here is my question...the 2bbl webber or the 4bbl yawpower?
I would like better gas mileage than I currently have with the stock nikki...I would also like half decent power...most of my driving is 55 mph or slower...but I also do some interstate driving sometimes
My dad wants to do the webber route...but I want low end power along with mid range...and I read that the 2bbl bogs down below 3500 rpm
I would appreciate info from anyone who has used either one
thanks
Adam

just rebuild it...it's only $20!!! you'll be amazed how smooth your car will run. A yaw or a weber will not do anything or almost anything for a stock port engine with stock exhaust.
Unless you got other goodies my suggestion is just to rebuild the original one.
If you want a used weber search the parts trader.

The only problem is almost all of the internal parts in my carb are worn out...and I don't think that a rebuild kit comes with all of the internals...i thought they just came with seals and stuff...guess I could be wrong tho
Another question while I'm on here...the valve on the right side of my carb with the orange power plug...am I supposed to be able to blow air thru it?...I can't get air thru it either way...thought it might be something to do with my problems right now

The local mechanic will sell me a webber 2bbl with all the hookups for 450...installed for about 550 which includes removing all of the vaccum lines and switches from the engine...havn't found a holley cheap
where do I get a cheap rebuild kit that includes the internals?..not just the various seals

well thats the regular price at Murrays Speed & Custom here in Miami but i talk to a buddy that works there and says he can do for about 240$. now this is the price for the carb alone not the mani or linkage kit but still a rb mani is about 250$
